In chapter 3 of section 5, Gandhi talked about the condition of poor passengers who travel by third class in trains. He writes about the bad behaviour of officials against them, treating the passengers as their servants and not allowing them to reason against them. In earlier chapters he also mentioned about the conditions of the trains — poor sanitation, no amneties, specially in the third class.
To improve this, he suggested that there is no other option than for rich and educated people to travel by third class and fight for the removal of the unfair practices.
